I have always felt that the league does too much for the NDTP.
Let them bring in thier top 40, as they get the pick of the litter. Put together your 17 team and your set. Do all this before the USHL draft(s). After that, the need to follow the same rules as the other USHL teams and not "tamper" with other teams property. No USHL team will give up the rights to a top line player with out an equal player in return.
After that, if the NDTP program loses a player during that 2 year period, they should go into the free agency pool to replace them.
They also need to do a better job in thier due diligence when looking into these players background. I've watched them bring in some guys where you know the history of a player and what happens one year down the road? You guest it.
I thought players had to sign a 2 yr. contract with the NDTP and if they left early, they had to pay 50K back to the program. Is this true?
And to allow them to send the 17 to a USHL playoff spot, because the 18's are in a tournament is beyond logic. It should be the next team in the standings.
