When it comes to those “hockey people” the first place to start should be with Kwong and the rest of the ownership. Kwong was a former hockey player at Harvard while the rest of his fellow owners Philip and Mark Falcone, brothers who are part of the Minnesota Wild’s ownership group along with Peter Chiarelli, the general manager of the 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins.

The philosophy was to take what had been done in the NHL in terms of the quality of items such as marketing and scouting then applying those ideals to work on a smaller scale to work within the USHL’s parameters.

His name has been mentioned so much with college openings that anything I see on Twitter really doesn't surprise me any more. I did see that tweet from Joe last week.

There's a little more smoke to this one from what i hear and with the his success at the draft this weekend, it's only going to be more fuel for the fire........

Far from it. He's being interviewed but just one of many candidates.

Just curious, jwalker. Are you a scout, or a coach? Reading your posts over the past few months, you seem to be pretty well informed.

It's only a matter of time before Monty, and a lot of Dubuque employees, move up. That's to be expected at this level and especially so for successful organizations. ...... Not too many PK O'Handley types around.

I get the feeling though that the group in Dubuque will just reload after they lose a coach, GM or scouts.

Dubuque did lose a scout/assistant coach this year. Bobby Kinsela jouned the Montreal Canadian staff as an amateur scout I believe.

Indeed. http://www.enterpris...treal-Canadiens

The nature of the beast in the Mighty USHL........But to answer one of your questions jwalker, I didn't realize Monty was up for the Maine job. If he gets it I hope it's soon so the Saints have time to get a new coach in, hopefully without a hiccup.

Nope. Just been around the USHL for a long time and met a few people with the right contacts :)

As much as I dont what Monty to go anywhere, he has a proven trackrecord and it is only a matter of time. When that time comes, It wouldnt suprise me if assistant Joe Coombs would slide right into that position with little to no transition.

I really dont see anything happening this year with Jankowski coming to DBQ, but stranger things have happened.

An embarrassment of riches. An ownership group chaulk full of NHL tied people, this franchise will just reload, reload, and do it again.........And with the league giving these types tenders, well you know.
