No Toews for the Hawks, no Datysuk for the Wings...
Not sure what the Hawks are going to do come trade deadline time... Dylan Olsen (D) got 20+ minutes last night against the Wings and seems to be holding his own so far. Has the rookie mistakes; but the coaching stafff seems to have confidence in him since O'Donnell was a scratch last night... I am hearing more often wingers names connected to the Hawks as trade rumors are concerned and the latest is Brian Rolston along with other 3rd/4th line type players... Will be intersting to watch, thats for sure...

Helluva win for the Hawks, but in my eyes disturbing as well. The club comes to play v top teams and they show they can play with and beat anyone. Yet they think they can just throw their sticks on the ice vs "regular" clubs and play one period and win.
Same with Kandy Kane. Guy cries about playing center, too tough physically and mentally, yet does so v the Wings and shows why he's a conundrum. Looks like a top 5 player in the world in this game, and then he'll get lost for the next 5 games....... I still say there wouldn't be a day as GM that I wouldn't look for a deal of equal value for Kandy.
Interesting to see how they "respond" after the effort v the Wings tonight v Dallas.
Anyone take note of the last 3 goals the club scored, minus Hossa's empty netter? Three garbage goals from within 5 feet of the goalie on rebounds or deflections. The exact goals the Hawks aren't willing to pay the price for, yet they lead to a couple wins.
Olson has been huge! Kid led the team with 6 hits v STL, and hasn't yet been taught to stick check like Kieth. Watch him in his own crease. Kid is schooled, Canada style, to clear his man physically and let the goalie or other Dman play the puck while his man is eliminated. So unHawk like and so damn great to see........ His play IMO may give the Hawks the option of lowering their wish list for a Dman.

Lot to like from the youngins right now, Hayes and Olson being at the top of that list for me. Looks as though Kruger might have taken a step forward as well. And this with Shaw awaiting another shot.
JJ is really rolling out the rumors. Couple hours reading here. http://www.hockeybuz...cago-Blackhawks
