Priebe comes up with a big save early that prevents Omaha from starting out the game 2-0
Also stops Murray on a partial breakaway with the extra attacker, as the Muskies got caught down low tring to get the empty netter.
Kid comes up huge after playing 1 period in the last couple months.
Boucher Gold with another strong game and Erickson was alll over the place.
Great to see him get rewarded with several points and #1 star!

That is something I felt Priebe wasn't able to do when he was getting starts early in the season. Skoff can make that big save where Priebe was still adjusting and would give up a goal. Sounded like he played very well tonight.

Thank you, Muskies!
Stars get some much needed payback tonight with a 6-3 victory over the TC Storm. The line of Kevin Roy-Dominik Shine-Luke Johnson was on fire. Roy with the hat trick and one assist, Shine with two goals and three assists, and Johnson with three assists. Roy's second goal was incredible. Storm player was tackling him from behind and Roy was able to roof it past Wilcox.
Two points out of first place! Fifth straight home win. Problem is they can't seem to win on the road as of late.

I wish the Jacks played TC more often, seems like a cross-league rivalry could be stewed up there. When we beat them 1-0 back in...November, I think it was, that was a really good hockey game.
I'm the biggest Muskegon Lumberjack fan you'll ever meet.
I always sit in Section 107 Row M seats 8-13.

Not watching, just listening, but sounds like SC has had a lot of odd man rushes that has led to 3 of the goals. Erickson's goal was just a wrist shot from 40 feet out. Can't say for sure if he's playing poorly or not, but at least 2 goals should have been stopped I believe. Defense doesn't sound like it's helping cuz I constantly hear SC on a break the other way, 2 on 1 with a 3 on 1 mixed in there where Ostlie (I think) knocked the puck away before the shot got off.
Lyon was screened by both an Oma & SC player that were skating across his line of site at the time Erickson was taking the outside shot... by the time Lyon saw Erickson's shot it was too late. Still a GREAT shot/goal for Erickson!!
When the tides of life turn against you and the current upsets your boat... don't waste tears on what might have been... just lay on your back and float!

If you're keeping track — and many are as Roy closes in on the Lincoln Stars team record of 47 goals in a season — Roy now has 38 goals this season. That's already the second-most goals in one season, passing the 37 Jason Gregoire scored in 2007-08.
Also Tuesday, Sioux City beat Omaha 6-3, allowing the Stars to move within two points of Omaha for first place in the Western Conference standings. Omaha has played two more games than the Stars.

Josh Erickson scored two goals and David Henry registered three points as the Sioux City Musketeers doubled up the Omaha Lancers 6-3 Tuesday evening in front of 1,786 fans at the Tyson Events Center. Following the setback, the Lancers dipped to 26-15-3 on the year but maintain sole possession of first place in the Western Conference with 55 standings points. The loss, coupled with Saturday's setback to the Indiana Ice, marks the first time since late November that Omaha has fallen in back-to-back games.

"Since January, we're a different team after changing little pieces here and there,'' said first-year Sioux City Coach Brett Larson.
"Especially our (defensive) corps. We're the best we've been all year on defense.''
Since snapping a five-game losing streak (and a 2-10 tailspin) on Jan. 20, the Musketeers are 8-2-1, improving to 20-23-1 to remain fifth in their eight-team division.
The Musketeers definitely had a handicap against the Lancers after losing goalie Matt Skoff for two games and three other players for one due to a second-period line brawl that saw everyone on the ice ejected from a 5-2 win Saturday at Sioux Falls.

Roy is on pace to score 54 goals this season, and 100 total points. When was the last time a USHL player did both in one season?

Brian Werger of the USHL got back to me with this info:
The last 100-point season was Peter Fregoe in 1998-99 for the Des Moines Buccaneers. He had 103 points (46g, 57a) in 56 games.
The last 50-goal season was Jason Blake in 1993-94 for the Waterloo Black Hawks. He put up 50 goals in 47 games.
