Storm Site/Kendall Grayson  Storm @ Lincoln Preview

The game will be the fourth of the season between the two teams with the Storm holding a 3-0 series advantage. Tri-City is coming off a two game sweep of Madison last weekend at the Viaero Center. The Storm have now won 4 of the last 5, and 12 of the last 15 games. A win tonight would give the Storm solo possession of 1

st place in the USHL standings. Tonight’s matchup is the only game on the USHL calendar.

In the three prior matchup’s vs the Stars, Tri-City has outscored Lincoln 12-3, and has won all three contests. The last time the Storm were in Lincoln, Tri-City rallied in the third period to record a come from behind victory against the Stars. Ronnie Attard, Michael Maloney and Adam Goodsir scored the Storm goals the last time the two teams met.

Lincoln is currently 9-6 overall, but sit in 6th place in a very tough Western Conference this season in the USHL. The top four teams in the Western Conference have all recorded more points in the standings than any team in the Eastern Conference.

Stars have played 15 games and have a .600 win percentage.  FAR has played 21 games, TC 18, SF 20, WTL 19, OM 17......... Only two teams in the East have a better win percentage than LIN, CHI and YT. CHI has the 2nd best overall win percentage in the league (TC is 1st), YT the 4th.

No doubt the West is brutal.  http://www.ushl.com/view/#/team-stats

Going into last yrs playoffs the top point getter for the Steel (McManus IIRC) ranked 17th in the league in points.  As of today the top scorer for the Storm is Tyler Ward tied with 7 other players for 38th!!!  The Storm have a .778 win percentage, no other team is above .700.

First minute of the game TC's McDermott takes a trip (?).  A minute later LIN Mersch takes care of that PP with a needless rough while his teammate is taking possession of the puck in the neutral zone.

Thru 1 no score.  SOG 8-5 TC.  Most of TC's shots are from the outside..........Solid fight capped off a physical period.

Storm get on the board at 8:53 of the 2nd.  FO at the left dot in LIN zone, LIN wins it to the corner, pushed up the boards, kept by TC at the side wall, battle, Richerds nicely leaves the corner where he battled for the puck and finds a soft spot at the circle, poked to him, spins, wrister over Vomacka's shoulder.  1-0.
