Steel 4th line of Magera-Abruzzuse-Walker have been as a good a line as the team has had in the 1st.  The forecheck has caused a few turnovers, 2-3 grade A chances and maybe 5-6 shots.  Hells bells and get off, nice short shifts...... Magera looking much more effective as a wing than a center.  This line might pop before it's over.

Steel's Shore off for a hit from behind at 17:02......... SOG 10-4 Steel.  All Steel since their PP at 8:04.......  Bucek played himself from the 2nd to 3rd line and looking at the 1st period the OHL kid is working to the 4th.  Possession killer right now, not much jump.

Cmon, Baker Shore!!    Saints 9th ranked PP looked excellent but Autio stands tall....... Shore with a 2 on 0 coming out of the box and mangles the thing, no shot.  Play goes back the other way and Walker trips a Saint at 19:24.   Saints back to the PP.

On the PP Guttman enters the zone right side, knocked down by Dashke at the high crease, puck goes behind the net, Primeau wins the thing behind, comes out the other side, backhands it across the crease, Guttman swats a backhander in the open cage from a tough angle.  1-0 Saints, 19:47.

1st ends, 1-0 Saints.  Good pace to the period, Saints better the first 8 minutes, Steel much better the next 10 minutes, Saints played well the last 2 drawing 2 penalties and scoring on the PP.  Don't know the SOG but the Steel have a good edge and much better edge in prime scoring chances.

Thompson takes a high stick, Steel PP, ensuing face off won by Steel, puck worked back to Stucker, smartly wristed low from the blueline, Bucek nice redirect from the high slot.  1-1 at about 8:00............

Magera takes a trip after he had a grade A chance, Saint PP, win the faceoff, shot thru traffic, nice save, rebound lays in the crease, somehow not knocked in, worked to the sidewall, up to the Dman, feeds Guttman at the left circle, 1 stride below the dot, sizzles a wrister far glove side, 2-1 Saints at 10:56.

Saints dump, Steel win the puck, up to McLaughlin he carries it out and all the way into the Saints' zone along the left wall, 2 ft pass to Dugan in the circle on the rush, Dugan a nifty backhand pass to a rushing Shore in the slot, he goes 5 hole.  2-2 at 15:20.

2nd period over, 2-2.  Game opened up, tons of pace, 3 of the 4 goals scored in that frame.  Game is about even.  castor no chance on the 2 that got past him, Autio had a chance on the 2nd past him but did stone a Steeves breakaway as Bushy made a beautiful stretch pass to Steeves in stride at center ice to spring him.

Lillibridge pushes it out of his zone, Magera battles along the wall at the red line, my guy Abruzzuse shot out of a cannon pokes the thing forward to Walker, he gathers it takes it in along the wall, cuts to the left circle, hits a flying Magera coming late between the circles, quickly one times a wrister in full stride top shelf glove side with Castor's skates on his goal line.  4th line pops at 9:09 of the 3rd, 3-2 Chicago.

A very hungry determined Steel for most of this period, Saints wait until 19:13 to pull Castor, get a bunch of zone time with the man advantage, a few solid chances but nothing goes and the Steel win.

J S-S with another two goals last night for Fargo. Coming out of camp I had no idea J S-S or Hebert would be this good. Along with Loughran, they have more grit than last year's Adams, Lizotte, Crone line.

I think I said this last year,  but the Steel have to be so annoying to play against.  They are so structured and solid defensively.  They always have their sticks down looking to knock down passes,  and they block so many shots. Saints had several opportunities to get really good looks,  but there was always a Steel defensemen there to disrupt it.  Saints are close,  but still too many breakdowns to beat the top teams in the league right now.

Indeed, especially from the Dmen around and behind the net in their zone.  Has to be the weakest part, and biggest concern, of the Saints' coaching staff to this point.  You can count on 3-4 of these a game...... Looking for the talented Fulp to step up too.  He'll be a much different player in Game 50 than he is today but right now you can watch a Saints' game and not hear is named called for long stretches.

Saint's look much better the last 3-4 but they have to get those backend dangerous turnovers fixed.
