First off, hope everyone is having a great summer, thank God for golf to keep me entertained during the hockeyless summers.

Any updates on when schedules will be announced? Also, I remember some change to the dates this year, I vaguely remember something about shortening the season dates wise, but couldn't find the post with that information.

IIRC they will start the season a week later this year.

Actually 2 weeks later

October 6th – USHL Regular Season begins

Ok, and they're still playing 60 games. You remember what they said as far as condensing the schedule to make up for the 2 week later start? They aren't running the season 2 weeks later are they? ........ IIRC they are having the same end date for the season but everyone will have a few more midweek games to compensate for the later start of the season.

Per the SF Facebook page, they said their home opener will be released on Monday and full schedule to be released Tuesday. So, perhaps as soon as Tuesday the full schedule will be released!

Rider fans have to wait until the 2nd week for their home opener on the 14th. ......Jacks will be the home opener of Lincoln and Des Moines and their fans too have to wait until the 2nd week. Same with the Thunder.

Well at least the Phantoms aren't opening the season against the NTDP U18s like we have the last 4 seasons with a record of 0-4-0-0.

Steel schedule out, as are all teams'. http://www.chicagosteelhockeyteam.com/news_article/show/814956 http://www.chicagosteelhockeyteam.com/page/show/3497031-2017-2018-schedule

Will play all 16 teams at least twice.

Play the Jacks the most of any team, 7 times.

14 of first 22 on the road!

10 of the last 14 games will be on the road including 7 of the last 9 and 4 of last 5!! :eeek: :eeek:

But between Jan 14th and March 4th play 15 of 18 at home.

Feb 16th through March 4th they have 7 straight home games.

Play LIN at home day after Thanksgiving. (Nice road trip Stars fans)

Only one chance to see the U-18's at home. Play both the 18's and 17's 3 times each.

I count only 3 midweek games.

New Years Eve weekend they play DBQ on Saturday and the Jacks on Sunday New Years Eve.

7 Sunday home games all start at 3:05.

Edit:

Five 3 in 3's all end on Sunday.

A 5 in 8 in January but 4 are at home.

A 5 in 8 in March with 3 at home including a back to back vs Noreen's Storm and a back to back vs the U-18's on the road. Rough.

Anyone have highlights or observations of your teams' schedule?

Saints have a few quirks, but compared to most years, the schedule seems more reasonable.

-Saints play 15 games in October/November, 10 of those are against Bloomington, Chicago and Waterloo.

-No U18's, only 3 games against the U17's.

-Back to back 3 game weekends end of January, all on the road, part of a stretch where they play 11 of 14 on the road.

-7 of the last 9 at home.

Anyone have highlights or observations of your teams' schedule?

Posted these on Twitter about Lincoln's schedule:

-Stars play 17 games at home in first 30 games; 13 at home in last 30.

-Stars play Omaha and Des Moines 9 times each. Tri-City 8 times. Sioux City, Waterloo, Sioux Falls, and Fargo 4 times each.

-Longest homestand is 3 games (happens four times during the season); Longest road trip is 4 games (happens two times during the season)
-Stars play three games in three consecutive days four times during the season. That's a lot.
-In a rough stretch in March, the Stars play six games in nine days. Back-to-back weekends when Lincoln plays 3 games in 3 consecutive days.
-Home games for Lincoln: 12 on Friday, 10 on Saturday, 3 on Thursday, 2 each on Tuesday and Wednesday, 1 on Sunday. Total of 30.
Really, really don't like the amount of stretches of three games in three days. Not good at all for these kids. I really wish the league would cut down to 50 or 55 regular season games.

Forgot to look for 3 in 3's and 5 in 7's. Steel only have the printable version out so it's hard to notice those as opposed to the calendar version of the schedule. But I do see:

Five 3 in 3's all end on Sunday.

A 5 in 8 in January but 4 are at home.

A 5 in 8 in March with 3 at home including a back to back vs Noreen's Storm and a back to back vs the U-18's on the road. Rough.

Elite schedule negotiating by DBQ. No U-18's and three times the U-17's???? :eeek::eeek: Helluva competitive advantage for the Saints but their fans still deserve a visit by the U-18's who are sure to roll out 15+ future NHL picks. ..........Meanwhile the Mighty Steel battle the U-18's 3 times including a back to back on the road.

I was trying to find past schedules, but I seem to recall the Saints dodging the 18's in numerous years. I'm almost positive they didn't see them last year, and only once the year before.

I stand corrected, they did face them last year, and the previous, but always in Michigan. The 18's haven't come to the Key City since 12-13 from what I can tell.

Youngstown's schedule is pretty interesting.

Being the furthest east, it's usually a Friday/Saturday two-game series against opponents. Unless it's the USA U-17 or U-18, in which it's usually a home-and-home on the weekend. An occasional morning (school) game or Sunday game thrown in.

This year, season starts with a 2-game set with Bloomington on Saturday and Sunday. Which means not competing against HS Football.

Next home weekend, is a Friday morning game (again, avoiding HS Football), and a Saturday game.

Next home game is part of a home-and-home with Muskegon on Friday and Saturday. Though, this time competing with HS Football as the Friday is the home game.

Next home stand is mid-November, on Friday and Saturday with USA U-18 and Chicago. Then, a Thanksgiving Eve Wednesday night game at 8pm against Muskegon.

December 1st is a single-game weekend for a Friday night against Team USA U-17.

12/14-12/15 is a two-game weekend on Thursday and Friday, with the Thursday game being 10am (both against Cedar Rapids).

12/28 and 12/29 is another two-game weekend on Thursday and Friday, both at night, against Madison.

Next homestand isn't until late January with a Monday 1:35 afternoon game against Team USA U-18, and the Friday/Saturday two-game weekend against Tri-City.

The following weekend is a 3-game weekend that starts in Muskegon on Friday night, and a Saturday night/Sunday afternoon two-game series with Dubuque.

February has a lot of home games, starting with a rare Tuesday night game against Bloomington on 2/13 and follows with a two-game series hosting Waterloo on Friday and Saturday (2/16-2/17), and Omaha on Friday and Saturday (2/23-2/24) that includes a Sunday road trip to Team USA U-18.

Another three-game road weekend (@ Madison/Madison/Chicago) then gives way to another Friday/Saturday two-game series against Des Moines at home.

Two more road series at Green Bay and Lincoln the next two weeks before a home/away series against Team USA. @ U-18 on Friday 3/30, and at home in an odd Saturday afternoon game on 3/31 v. U-17.

That's the first of five straight home games to close the season. The next weekend is a two-game set against Chicago on Friday and Saturday (4/6-4/7), and then a two-game schedule with a Thursday 10am school game on 4/12 against Team USA U-17 and the season finale two days later on Saturday, 4/14 against Muskegon.

It's different. The Muskegon games are mainly either single games or home-and-away two-game sets. Which makes the schedule feel off. There's only one home series against Green Bay. And only Omaha, Tri-City, Dubuque, Waterloo, and Cedar Rapids making the trip from out west that I can tell.

And I'm glad they've worked the schedule better with the Team USA games. Still 3 of the last six are Team USA, but it doesn't feel overdone with Chicago featuring prominently and the finale against Muskegon.
