Waterloo @ Fargo 4/18/17

Obliviously a must win for Fargo to extend the Series. Not sure if Murray will be back or not but the goaltending has been solid with Bischel in net. To me the state of this series has come from Fargo's undisciplined play in the 3rds period. They really were in good shape to win the game on Friday until 8 minutes of penalties in the third period led to 2 power play goals sending the game to overtime. On Saturday they were down one goal with under 9 minutes remaining. They had a 5 minute boarding major coming for a hit and Washe grabbed one of the Black Hawk players and started pounding on him to even it up. He is also receiving his second suspension in the last two weekends against Waterloo for his actions. If they want a chance to get back in this game they need to stay disciplined because this has cost them.

I thought Fargo would have come out of the Loo with 1 win. Now, I don't see how they get back there tied 2-2. Waterloo for the win and clincher tonight.

I agree completely. Hope they can win the next 3 games and take Waterloo out of it though.

Bischel with Scites (ebug) backing up. Thought Aftberg was a Dman (like this kid). Listed as centering the 4th line........ No Washe (suspended)..... Looking for the Force 3rd line to be in the + column tonight and my guy Clayton Phillips to pop one. Hope this goes to a Game 4.

Don't get much better. Anderson calling a desperation playoff game in a high def feed!!..........

InForum/Chris Murphy Phillips leads Force into a must win game

"Our guys are ready," Force coach Cary Eades said. "They know our season is on the line. We have to just break things down. We've had success against Waterloo during the regular season. We came up basically a goal short on both nights. There's a quiet confidence about us. We know there's a big task ahead of us, but we're loose, we're confident and our focus is on winning Game 3."

"We've gone from a four-lane freeway at their big rink in Waterloo down to two lanes in ours," Eades said. "I think it's close to Olympic size, so it's about 15 feet wider, which doesn't seem a lot, until you're out there trying to defend against it. They caught us out of position a few times with their quick speed and their puck movement. Let's hope we have to worry about going back there."

WCFcourier/Jim Nelson Black Hawks know series is far from over

Just three times in 26 prior opening Clark Cup playoff series have the Black Hawks swept an opponent with those coming in 2008 (Cedar Rapids), 2012 (Tri-City, best of three series) and 2014 (Sioux Falls).

Two things have been keys for Waterloo. The Black Hawks have blanked the Force in five penalty kill situations, and Waterloo has done a great job of neutralizing Fargo’s top line of Hank Crone, Jack Adams and Blake Lizotte.

That trio combined for 22 points in six regular-season meetings between the teams, but through two games of the playoffs has just one point and only 13 shots on net.

Did not know Copeland has been out the first two games. Line sheet shows him on the 3rd line tonight. No matter his season numbers the last couple times I've seen the kid he's jumped out. He's making plays all over the ice, certainly does not look like a rookie.

His linemate Johnson too.

WCFcourier/Jim Nelson Conger is one of Black Hawks' driving forces

It was a gamble for an oft-injured player. Yet when you look back at out-of-season trades Waterloo made to build its 2016-17 roster, Conger’s is proving to almost be as important as the one the Black Hawks made to get starting goalie Robbie Beydoun from Fargo.

In 32 games since the start of January, Conger has averaged a point a game — 11 goals and 22 assists — as a key component to the Black Hawks’ drive into the Clark Cup playoffs, where tonight Waterloo will look to complete a three-game sweep of Fargo in a Western Division semifinal series.

Did not know Conger was a Thunder.........

End 1st, 1-nuttin WTL..............Force 0-2 on the PP, Hawks 0-1. SOG, 11-7 Hawks. Lost 4-5 minutes of the feed but the game looked about even, lotta pace, Hawks with the better of the chances, Force being kept to the outside for the most part. ... Beydoun looks locked in, very smooth.

Bowers in alone short handed, save, back the other way Force's Paginelli takes a trip. End of Force PP, and we'll see about 1:25 of PP time for the Hawks.

Fargo better stay out of the box, that Hawk PP looks ready to pop.
