USHL Site Players of The Week

The United States Hockey League announced the CCM Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 29 of the 2016-17 season. Muskegon Lumberjacks teammates Anthony Del Gaizo and Ty Farmer were named Forward and Defenseman of the Week, respectively, for the first time this season, while Ivan Kulbakov of the Youngstown Phantoms earned Goaltender of the Week honors for the second time. Del Gaizo picked up a hat trick on Friday in a win over Chicago before adding two assists the next night in Bloomington, Farmer dished out an assist on Friday before scoring twice on Saturday, and Kulbakov led the Phantoms to two wins over the weekend, including a 22-save shutout on Saturday that helped Youngstown clinch the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. CCM Hockey is the official equipment provider of the USHL.

Have to notate that during the Steel game Farmer was switched from defense to forward as the Jacks were/are without forwards Svechnikov and Kondelik who are representing their countries at the U-18 Worlds. The kid looked like he was unleashed showing his very good skating to go along with some serious hands and moves. He played forward the next night as well in Bloomington.

Interesting little blurb about the possibility of a NCAA Region being played at the Denny.

Lotta scoop from this writer. Thanks for the post.............

Although Cary Eades could be on the radar of some college teams, he told The Forum’s Chris Murphy today: “Never say never but it would take really something special for me to leave here.”

Eades, a longtime UND assistant coach and player, is currently the head coach of the Fargo Force in the USHL. The Force open the playoffs at Waterloo on Friday.
