K's enforcer rumors

The rumored enforcers are:
Martin Grenier
Brandon Sugden
I dont know how much I would put into this because both players would qualify as vets and the K's have been reluctant in the past to sign vet enforcers.... Both players played in the KHL last season....

"The Komets will continue to be a member of the International Hockey League and participate in the Central Hockey League under the CHL moniker in the Northern Conference. The circuit will consist of 13 CHL teams and five IHL teams for an 18-team coalition."

Firstly, how many vets do the Komets have signed? Second, do we even know yet how many vets a team can have?

Dupuis and PC are the only two I can think of, so 2.
The first guy seems like a monster and I highly doubt he will be in a K's uniform at all. The second is more realistic.

Is a big name heavyweight really needed in the CHL? They had very few guys that were really tearing up the fight card last year, especially heavys. Maybe I have a bad prececption, but the CHL is the league where 6' Greg Pankewicz kicked everybodys butt for a few years, isn't it?

I know the CHL didn't last year, and would imagine they won't this year. I like when they don't restrict a team when it comes to goalies, cuz if you don't have a least a decent one you are screwed.

I can't answer that JM. We all have much to learn this year as we go through the season.

He would be the healthy scratch, or would just ride the bench every night.

With that said I really doubt either of those guys play in the CHL next year, Sugden could likely find a contract just by the name Sugden, he is well-known and if he does come back to North America I'd expect him to be a AHL player who hardly plays. Likely he stays over in the KHL or maybe even the EIHL.
Grenier I think could find a place in the AHL as well. He was a tough prospect and still is, if he comes back I'd guess he ends up somewhere in the AHL very early in the season. He will likely stay in Russia as he is making more money there just like Sugden. They are getting paid NHL type saleries over in Russia, why come back to make jack in the CHL?
If the Komets are still seriously looking for a enforcer I'm sure they will look for a guy like Jonathan Tremblay or Kevin Cormier before Sugar or Grenier. There is also a few guys coming out of juniors this year.

He could be the guy if he comes in and does his job and plays his butt off. Just hit people and play tough. He could fill the role.
