1. The only former Olympian on any IHL roster that I know of is Konstantin Shafronov for the Komets. Not sure why his country isnt playing in the Olympics this year; but I know he's been talking of not retiring for the past couple seasons until after this year and the Olympics to try and play in them one more time...

2. I think a fan can be a "TRUE" hockey fan without going to the USHL games next year in Musky if its not thier cup of tea... They have the Griffins close by or can just get thier NHL Center Ice package and continue to watch pro hockey if thats thier perogative...

Also JR1...the K-Wings aren't that much farther away either. Just go to Grand Rapids and turn south. You can also watch AHL games for free on the web if you know where to look. I enjoy watching the KHL games on the web but I can't understand Russian.
And if you still want your UHAUL-IHL fix, Flint and Pt Huron are around 3 hrs away!!

This is going to be big for our local economy. Think of all the dollars that are going to be spent right here. I'm sure over the course of this transition you're going to lose a lot of fans. At the same time you'll gain a lot as well. Not only will these kids' parents/family come in town, but think of how close these guys are going to get with their billet families and their relatives. And the ones who are in college and bring in their new friends, etc. Overall, I wouldn't doubt it a bit if our attendance goes up next year. I don't feel the negative effects of this transition are as great as many people think it is.

Kazakhstan is ranked 20th in the world currently according to the IIHL. Only the top 12 (at what capture point I'm not sure, probably in the last 8-16 months) make it to the Olympics.
